The Honda Eco Mileage Challenge competition is a fair competition where participants combine creativity, imagination and technological insights to design cars that have the competitive advantage of fuel efficiency.

Originated from Japan in 1981, Honda Eco Mileage Challenge (EMC) is an event aimed to save fuel and protect the environment and it has gone through 37 years. The Honda Eco Mileage Challenge competition is a fair competition where participants combine creativity, imagination and technological insights to design cars that have the competitive advantage of fuel efficiency. The competition aims to enhance creative joy in teamwork, as well as environmental awareness for young people. Until now, the contest has not only been held in Japan but also spread to other Asian countries such as Thailand, China and Vietnam.

EMC was first organized by Honda Vietnam in 2010. After 8 years, the contest has gained considerable successes and increased the number of participating teams.

Because of the positive meaning of the competition, students of mechanical engineering at the University of Transport and Communications – Campus in Ho Chi Minh City have participated in this competition since 2016 and achieved impressive results - top 20 - in the first time and continuously improve the achievement in the next years.

Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Transport and Communications – Campus in Ho Chi Minh City always encourages students to actively participate in practical activities in order to apply theories into practice, creating a positive learning environment for students. Therefore, they will have the knowledge and skills to be able to work after graduating.
