The Volunteer Campaign in Spring 2019 - The Event of Vietnamese Voluntary Students
As a local habit, thousands of young Vietnamese people in Ho Chi Minh come to take part in charity work and join hands to aid people living in poverty. Thus, these poor people can have a great Tet holiday and this action can inspire a number of city dwellers. The closer the Lunar New Year 2019 is, the more exciting and practical volunteer activities are.
The 11th volunteer campaign is organized by the Youth Union and the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City from January 1st, 2019 to February 2nd, 2019. This event is held in order to welcome the National Assembly of Vietnamese Students for the 10th term (2018 - 2023), effectively delivering the message of the year 2019 "The Year of Voluntary Students ".
The campaign took place in 24 districts in Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, focusing on hospitals, orphanages, specialized schools, dormitories, hostels, train and bus stations, markets, densely populated areas, state boundaries, and islands.
Volunteers are mainly students from colleges high schools, vocational schools, international students and local workers.
There are some major campaigns: "Tet friends", "Spring sharing", "Spring soldiers", "Tet Civilization" with some practical activities, including: "Volunteers act for the New Year" on January 6th 2019, "Volunteers share for social security" on January 13th 2019, "Volunteers act for friends” on January 20th, 2019, “Volunteers act for children” on January 27th, 2019.
The Spring Volunteer Campaign in 2019 is going to take place at 7:00 AM on Sunday on January 6th, 2019 at 4A, City Youth Cultural House (No. 4, Pham Ngoc Thach, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1). Soon after, volunteers will participate in the most interesting activities, such as donating blood, especially type O, to increase the blood supply in the Lunar New Year in local hospitals. There is an area for collecting items to make gifts for poor children. There is also another area called “A thousand Banh Chung pieces” for students to learn to make and wrap Banh chung, ensuring the quality of final products. It is also worth mentioning that "Volunteers act for the new year 2019” is another event with a number of other stimulating activities that students should not skip.
